“The Road Ahead”
This wood sculpture, inspired by Martin Puryear’s Ladder for Booker T. Washington, uses perspective to display a long road ahead for the viewer. This road symbolizes one’s own journey they must take throughout life.
“Color In Structure”
This wood sculpture takes a more abstract approach than the others using the up facing beams as a way to show unity. The blue displays movement, specifically of one’s journey. And how one use their community as a way to uplift them.
“Birdhouse”
This box and cardboard bird house represents my own structure in life, and how I have my own sense of safety brought on by this structure. The colors are represenative of the passage of time.
